WHAT IS THE CULTURAL STUDIES CONFERENCE?
A graduate-centered conference without all the pressure...Begun in 2018 as The American Studies Graduate Student Conference, this year's conference takes a slightly more broad-stroke approach to the topic of cultural studies through an Americanized lens. Hosted by students from The University of Alabama's Departments of American Studies, Religious Studies, English, Art and Art History, and Gender & Race Studies, the Cultural Studies Graduate Conference aims to create a space in which graduate students can share their scholarship and projects, both completed and in-progress, in an atmosphere that is free of the pressures that often come with larger-scale conferences such as those found at the national and international levels.
